Headteacher's Update

We've had a wonderful return to school with children showing us lots of aspiration to achieve their personal best. Year 2 had a stunning start to their Paddington writing topic with a marmalade toast tasting party, Year 5 began their outdoor learning project and Year 6 have been perfecting their dance routine for an upcoming show at Brighton Dome! 

We celebrated our fourth 'Word Millionaire' with Ayla (Y4) joining Malik (Y5), Lily (Y4) and Flo (Y4). Malik has become our first Double Millionaire of the school year so far reaching his 2 million word count certificate. Our word count certificates start at 1,000 words and go all the way up to the millions! When children read and quiz on our school library books, the total word count for that book gets added to their score, which adds up throughout the year. We're so proud of our amazing culture of reading for pleasure and these children for their amazing achievements. We're excited to continue this with lots of World Book Day fun next week!
