It's been an enriching week here at CAW! 

On Monday, we hosted a production of Along Came A Magpie for Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 from the amazing Scarlett Oak Theatre Company as well as having a whole school video call and draw-a-long with author, Mikey Please. 

On Wednesday, Year 4 had their second British Sign Language Workshop, collaborating with staff and students from Roedean School. 

On Thursday, we all celebrated World Book Day with special assemblies, reading challenges, art work, story times, book browsing and, most excitingly, a Great Gross British Bake Off whereby each class concoted a disgusting dish for some brave adults to taste. This was all inspired by Mikey Please's exceptional story book The Cafe At The Edge Of The Woods.

We also celebrated our Bronze, Silver and Gold Aspiration certificate winners this week, shining a light on the children who are showing us exceptional effort with their attendance and behaviour. It's a priviledge to work with such hard working, kind and respectful children. Here are just a handful of our certificate winners.

It's been a really exciting week and we can't wait for next week where we are taking part in vertical learning for International Women's Day, with a link to OCOW (Our City Our World). Do ask your child who they learned about at pick up on Monday! We'll also be undertaking some Reading and Maths assessments in Year 2-5 to help shape our teaching for the rest of the year. We look forward to seeing children putting in that extra effort and resilience to show us all that they've learnt.
