Friday 10th July
This week has been particularly busy, with Sports Days, educational visits and lots of opportunities to welcome families into school.
Our Year 1 and Year 2 Sports Day was a wonderful celebration of teamwork, determination and personal achievement. The children demonstrated exemplary behaviour throughout the event, giving every activity their very best effort whilst encouraging and celebrating one another's successes. A huge thank you also goes to our staff team, whose brilliant organisation, teamwork and collaboration ensured the event ran so smoothly and created such an enjoyable experience for everyone. We were equally delighted to hold our Year 3 and Year 4 Sports Day, where the children once again showed fantastic sportsmanship, resilience and determination. With temperatures remaining high, staff made thoughtful adaptations throughout the day to keep everyone safe and comfortable, and the children responded brilliantly, continuing to give their best in every event while supporting one another from the sidelines. It was wonderful to welcome so many families to cheer the children on and celebrate their sporting achievements.
Year 5 also enjoyed a fantastic visit to Royal Pavilion as part of their local history study. The trip gave children the opportunity to bring their classroom learning to life by exploring one of Brighton's most iconic landmarks and discovering more about its fascinating history. The children represented the school brilliantly, asking thoughtful questions and demonstrating curiosity and respect throughout the visit.

Summer Celebrations has got off to a fantastic start with children loving the Stickers On The Gate on Wednesday (and some grown ups asking for stickers too!), children were heard excitedly anticipating their Teacher Takeover, with Year 1's Dance Party shown below. Catching them in the middle of their handwriting lesson really caught them by surprise! Today children will visit our 'Free Book Sale' and come home with some new reading material for summer. Additional Trim Trail play has been so successful we're adding extra sessions in upcoming weeks. Do check your emails and Tuesday's Facebook/Instagram Post all about it. Full information posted at the end of this update. It's really important that children continue to attend school consistently so that they can make the most of the time with their friends and their school routines. They'll also miss out on so much fun and one-off opportunities if they are not here, and reasonably could be. Soak SLT is proving to be a real motivator, so help your child contribute to earning water to throw over the leadership team!

Finally, I would like to thank all of the families who have visited the school this week. It has been lovely to welcome so many of you to our Wellbeing Curriculum Meeting, the Year 3 and 4 Parent Information Meeting, Individual Support Plan (ISP) meetings, Sports Days, our New Reception Stay and Play sessions and our Welfare and SEND Coffee Morning. Working in partnership with families is something we value enormously, and it has been wonderful to see so many parents and carers engaging with school life. We are looking forward to welcoming many more of you back next week as we celebrate your child's achievements through their end-of-year reports and Family Consultation Evenings.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support, and we hope you have a wonderful weekend.
