  • Headteacher's Update

    Friday 19th September 2025

We’ve had a great week at school, with a videographer recording footage for us to share, Year One children going on a hunt for The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s food, and a girls’ football tournament at the Brighton and Hove Albion training ground.

    CAW Weekly Bulletin

As part of our improved communication strategy, we will be posting a weekly bulletin each Friday to share the key dates and information you’ll need for the coming week. You can find it on the school website here.

    School Ambassadors

It was inspiring to see the Year Five and Six children who applied to become new City Academy Whitehawk Ambassadors. They worked so hard on their letters to me, and then made speeches to their peers on Monday. After a democratic election, we have appointed six new Ambassadors, and they will wear their black and gold uniforms with pride. The CAW Ambassadors are wonderful role models for the whole of the school who really demonstrate our CAW Qualities:

    Jeans for Genes: thank you!

We are incredibly proud as a school to celebrate and support this wonderful charity, and we know how much it means to Whitehawk as a community. Thank you to everyone who generously donated to our school fundraiser for this: we have already reached £138! If you would like to make a voluntary donation, you can do so at this link.

    Times Table Rockstars festival launch

Years Four, Five and Six will be taking part in a Times Table Rockstars event on Thursday to launch TTRS for a new year! Learning the times tables is really important for children and supports every area of their maths learning.  Keep encouraging your children to login at home and boost their scores! Click here for the TTRS website.

Have a wonderful weekend in the sunshine,
