It has been wonderful to welcome all of our children back to school and into their new classes this week. A particularly warm welcome goes to our new Reception Robins children and our Hatchlings Nursery children, who have made such a fantastic start to their CAW journey.

Our CAW Quality of the Week has been Respect, and it has been lovely to see children demonstrating this in so many ways, particularly through the excellent engagement and cooperation we have seen during playtimes. From fancy dress, Lego, water play and colouring to reading, games and imaginative make-believe, the playground has been full of happy children playing, sharing and making new friendships.

Our younger children have also been getting used to their new reading and writing groups, with our KS1 pupils already showing excellent progress and settling quickly into their new routines. It has also been fantastic to see our new Year 3 and 4 combined classes—Pelican, Kingfisher and Albatross—working so exceptionally well together. The children have embraced the changes brilliantly, making new friends and demonstrating the resilience, respect and positive attitudes that we are so proud to see.

There has also been plenty happening around the school building over the summer break. We are delighted that new carpets have been installed in all four KS1 classrooms, helping to create fresh and welcoming learning environments for the children. Our programme of new windows across the entire school is also almost complete, and we would like to thank children and families for their patience with the final stages of this work. We have also installed new projectors in both the hall and canteen, which we are very excited to use during assemblies, celebrations and other school events.

Looking ahead, there is lots to look forward to this term, including Jeans for Genes, the TTRS Festival, Poetry Day and much more! We are excited for another year of learning, opportunities and celebrations, and look forward to seeing our children continue to demonstrate our CAW Qualities of Aspiration, Excellence, Resilience, Respect and Effort.
