I continue to be incredibly impressed with the hard work, resilience and effort the CAW students are showing! It’s wonderful to celebrate children’s diligence, and to see the genuine pride they take in their work.

Personal Development
The City Academy Whitehawk Personal Development offer helps children develop important life skills, build their character and focuses on their wellbeing. You can read more about it on our Personal Development calendar by clicking this link.
Each week we look at a different Significant Figure, and reflect on how they have embodied our six Growth Mindset CAW Qualities. This week, for example, we’ve celebrated Diogo Jota and the Collaboration/Teamwork Termite qualities he showed throughout his career.

The CAW Our City, Our World learning helps the children understand the impact of climate change, encourages them to spend more time in the natural world, and build their sense of agency so that they know they are important and that they have the power a difference. This half term, our learning is related to Oceans. You can see each week’s learning question below:

We were very proud that Ofsted rated our Personal Development provision as Outstanding, and we are continuing to build on this great work. If you have any ideas to add to this, I’d love to hear them!
CAW Aspiration Awards
We’re excited to be awarding the brand-new City Academy Whitehawk Aspiration Awards very soon! These awards are designed to encourage children to have great attendance and to continue showing exceptional behaviour. We will be awarding the certificates every half term, so if your child didn’t earn one from Autumn 2, they will have the chance to earn one based on their attendance and behaviour during the current term.

Have a great weekend and I’ll look forward to seeing you on the gate on Monday morning,
Russell Wood
