    Wellbeing Week

The absolute highlight of the week has been our very first Wellbeing Week. Across the school, children have enjoyed a range of activities designed to promote healthy lifestyles, positive wellbeing and new experiences. From before-school clubs including yoga, athletics and running, to healthy snacks at break times and visits from professionals in healthcare and sport, there has been a real buzz around the school. The children have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and positivity, and it has been wonderful to see them learning more about how to look after both their physical and mental wellbeing. Thank you to all of the staff and visitors who helped make the week such a success.

Year 1 and 4 National Assessments - Completed!

This week has also been an important milestone for both Year 1 and Year 4. Our Year 1 children completed their Phonics Screening Check and impressed us all with their excellent stamina, confidence and ability to recall sounds and blend them fluently into words. They approached the check with calmness and determination and should be incredibly proud of themselves. Meanwhile, our Year 4 children completed their Multiplication Tables Check, demonstrating fantastic attitudes to learning and some incredibly speedy recall of times table facts. Both year groups have worked hard throughout the year to prepare for these assessments, and it has been lovely to celebrate their efforts with special breakfasts and well-deserved treats. Please keep an eye on our social media pages over the coming days, where we will be sharing some photographs from these celebrations.

    Year 6 Writing Moderation

Finally, Year 6 writing has been externally moderated this week, providing us with an opportunity to showcase the outstanding work that our children produce and the excellent progress they have made throughout their primary school journey. Moderation is an important part of ensuring consistency and accuracy in teacher assessment, and we were incredibly proud to share examples of the children's writing with colleagues from beyond our school. Their work reflects not only strong technical skills but also creativity, resilience and the ability to write for a range of audiences and purposes. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the high standards our children achieve and the dedication of both pupils and staff. I hope you saw our social media post this week about one of our Year 6 pupils sharing one of their finished written pieces with Year 1! I just had to include the photograph here too as it was such a lovely moment. We aim to inspire children to not only be able to confident in the mechanics of constructing written work but also to consider audience, purpose and real world experiences to make it meaningful, enjoyable and memorable!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Your support with phonics and timetables has made a huge impact on children's confidence and recall and your promotion of our Wellbeing Week activities has been phenomenal. We have been oversubscribed to every single event this week!

    Have a wonderful weekend,
