CAW Qualities

Our mission is to provide an outstanding education for our children enabling each child to be the very best they can be. We strive to develop children’s aspirations, self-belief and self-esteem in a safe, secure and stimulating learning environment through consistently high quality learning opportunities. Everything we do comes back to our motto: 'Highest Expectations for All'.

Our school's culture is underpinned by our six CAW Qualities: Collaboration, Aspiration, Resilience, Effort, Excellence and Respect. These CAW Qualities are carefully linked to our CAW growth mindset behaviours and Rights Respecting School articles. We meet weekly as a school community to shine a light on a particular quality, what it looks like in action and then celebrate role models who have demonstrated excellence or rapid improvement. This had a hugely positive impact on children's sense of belonging and the school's shared language, ensuring that we're enabling all children to achieve personal excellence.

Each year we hold a democratic election for children to take up the position of CAW Ambassador. Our Ambassadors are role models who 'set the bars' for their peers, modelling the qualities to an exemplary standard. They're easy to spot in their black and gold uniform!

We are determined that all children achieve ‘Next Phase Readiness’ and therefore our Quality of Education and Personal Development offer are designed to prepare children for life beyond City Academy Whitehawk. We are determined that, in and out of school, all children adopt and embody our CAW Qualities and their associated behaviours.
