Reading and Writing
If you haven't already please check out the following websites for free books to read online. The libraries are offering these opportunities to support your reading - and you could always find that copy of the Lion, Witch and The Wardrobe:
There is also a reading comprehension that we are uploading for you to have ago at! There is also a really exciting writing activity that Ms Glaser has designed. Enjoy!
Our new Maths topic this week is... Multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000!
FIRST: watch this video of a child multiplying by 10 and 100. To do the same for 1000 you will need to move 3 decimal places to the left (multiplying makes a number bigger). To divide you do the same BUT you move all the numbers to the RIGHT depending on the amount of ZEROS your power of 10 has. E.G. 100 has 2 zeros so each number will be moved twice.
NEXT: Make your own place value chart and number cards like the girl uses in the video to help you.
LAST: Complete the activity sheet attached.
We are still looking at the British empire and slavery! Next week we will move onto a new topic .... it is a suprise!
