Welcome to the new school year - September 2019
Hi! I am Miss Gayle and I am so excited to welcome our new cohort of Year 4’s, we’ve heard tremulous things about our upcoming pupils and can’t wait for the new year to begin!
In Autumn 1, we will be learning about the Ancient World of India in Paragon, focusing on the Indus Valley and the River Ganges. We will be investigating what culture grew up around the Indus River and how rivers are used for farming.
As well as India, we will be devolving into the magical world of ancient Thailand as we read The Firework Maker’s Daughter – a story about a young girl with a dream. Our writing this term will be themed around fireworks and characters from this exciting tale, as well as some of our artwork!
In Science, we are going to discover how all living things can be grouped in different ways, explore, and use classification keys to help group, identify and name a variety of living things in their local and wider environment.
In Maths, we will be building upon our knowledge of place value and engaging in some exciting problem solving activities!
